1. How does QuikScreen® work?
QuikScreen® is a self-contained, qualitative
urinalysis drug test that detects the presence of drug metabolites
in urine. The cup contains built in detection strips, each designed
to test a particular drug at specific SAMHSA cutoff levels. The
method employs a unique mixture of antibodies to selectively
identify the drugs of abuse and their metabolites in test samples
with a high degree of sensitivity. QuikScreen® does not require any
handling or manipulation to activate the cup. There is no need to
tip the cup, no need to dip strips on test cards into specimen, and
no need to drip specimen with pipette. The cup does all the work and
results can be read in only 5 minutes. QuikScreen® technology allows
the test results to be read similar to pregnancy tests. One line
indicates a negative test while two lines indicate a positive test
(confirmation recommended).
2. How accurate is QuikScreen®
QuikScreen®
is approximately 99% accurate when compared to certified
laboratory testing. Like other onsite test products, QuikScreen® is a qualitative test. It
only determines the presence of drugs at detection limits comparable
to NIDA cutoff limits used for DOT testing. GC/MS, which costs more,
quantifies the concentration of drugs in the sample. Most drug
testing purposes, such as random, pre-employment, post-accident, and
suspicion, detect the presence of drug use and does not determine
amounts ingested. QuikScreen®
satisfies the needs of most drug screening.
3. How affordable is
QuikScreen®
compared to laboratory testing?
The average cost of laboratory testing cost
$35.00-$45.00 per test. The QuikScreen® cup cost less than half
the average cost of laboratory testing, depending on cup
configuration. That is a big savings per cup, and if you order in
large quantities, the savings are even greater.
4. How does
QuikScreen® compare to other drug testing cups
and procedures?
Leading cups on the market require significant
manipulation or handling of the cup in order to activate the test.
These cups also must be tilted or detection strips inserted into
them to initiate contact with the specimen. During testing, these
cups are not sealed, which puts the tester at a greater risk of
specimen exposure, accidents, tampering, and re-testing. Should the
specimen deliver a positive reading, further handling of the cups or
split samples are needed to prepare them for shipping to a
confirmation lab. Other tests may require direct handling of urine
via pipettes and can take up to 45 minutes for results. QuikScreen®, on the other hand
does not require any strips to activate. Simply void urine into the
cup and wait for the results. The cup is also ready to be shipped if
necessary to confirm a positive reading, which could save you
shipping and handling charges.

6. Does QuikScreen® test for
adulteration?
Urine adulteration is a growing problem among drugs
of abuse testing and the number of adulterated specimens is on the
rise. Urine adulteration refers to the adding of a substance into a
urine specimen in order to mask drug detection, with the hope that
the substances will yield a negative drug test. One class of
adulterants include household substances, such as water, bleach,
detergent, and vinegar. A second class of adulterants include
commercially available products, such as Nitrite ("Klear" &
"Whizzies"), Detergent ("Mary Jane Superclean 13" & "Test
Clean"), and Glutaraldehyde ("Instant Clean & Add-it-ive").
QuikScreen® 5+2 and
QuikScreen® 5+4 drug testing cups can be configured with
adulteration detection strips built into the cup to assure the
sample has not been adulterated. Adulterants tested for include ph,
Specific Gravity(SG), NBP(Nitrite, Bleach,
Pyridinium Chlorochromate),
Glutaraldehyde(GTA), and
Creatinine(CRE)
